More and more Virtual Reality applications are being developed and published for educational purposes. However, learner experience and effectiveness in VR applications vary drastically due to a lack of pedagogical considerations (Fowler, 2015).
Therefore, the primary goal of this presentation is to share the themes that emerge from good and bad VR applications for education by reviewing and evaluating a list of VR applications that are designed for educational purposes. Participants will be provided with some general guidelines around the design of VR applications for education (Johnson-Glenberg, 2018).
In addition, participants will be engaged in the conversation to discuss 1) what needs to be incorporated into the design of VR applications for education, 2) how to integrate VR into our teaching and learning environments, 3) what contributes to the effective use of VR in and for education.
